Today, let's talk about the service life of stainless steel pressure gauges in general. Let's take a look together.

Firstly, stainless steel pressure gauges need to be regularly validated (usually every six months or a year) to check whether their internal elastic components are sensitive. In many cases, stainless steel pressure gauges need to work in a high-pressure range for a long time, and high-quality stainless steel pressure gauges can work under long-term pressure without any problems. 25Mpa is a commonly used range and is widely used.

The life calculation method for stainless steel pressure gauges is different from most products, as they do not have a lifespan of several years. Its lifespan calculation is related to its structure. The core component of a stainless steel pressure gauge is the Bourdon tube inside the stainless steel pressure gauge. When pressure comes in, the Bourdon tube deforms, driving the pointer to change and display the pressure reading. The lifespan of a Bourdon tube is calculated based on its number of deformations. For example, domestic tubes usually have 5000 or 10000 deformations, while imported tubes usually have 100000 deformations. When the Bourdon tube reaches its usage limit, it will not restore after deformation, causing the pointer to not return to zero or the Bourdon tube to rupture. At this point, the lifespan of a stainless steel pressure gauge comes to an end.

The situation where stainless steel pressure gauges are frequently damaged is instantaneous overpressure. For example, a 25Mpa stainless steel pressure gauge often reaches over 30Mpa when the unit is started. Stainless steel pressure gauges are very prone to damage and often fail once or several times.

It should be noted that the testing of stainless steel pressure gauges should be carried out at a room temperature of 5-30 ℃. The pointer shaft of the tested gauge should be located at the control center of the dial. When the pointer position of the case does not change, install the tested gauge on the calibrator. After the installation of the standard meter and the inspected meter, the pointer shafts of the two meters should be at the same height to avoid indication errors caused by different liquid levels. Otherwise, if the pointer shaft of one meter is lower, the indication value of the other meter will be larger.
